Cool Die Cut Transformations

I found an old book that I had that was for scrapbooking. It is called "Punch-it-Up". It uses those hole punch things, like I got for my birthday, to make cool things. So, I got to thinking that to make bigger versions, you could use Ellison Die cuts. Since I don't have my punch set or the die cut machine at home, I just did some drawings to show you how you can use the die cuts you have to make new things. I thought these were cool. Funny how you find things that you have had forever and suddenly see them in a new light. For this first one, you can take a Star die cut and cut off the bottom and you have a sombrero. I do a Fiesta every year to go with one of my Reading stories and this is one simple cut that my students could even make. I will probably really do this one. There are several you can do from a teddy bear die cut. This first one is a horse's head. You cut off the arms and ears and then turn upside down and add the mane and voila you have a horse, giddy-up!Another from the teddy is the tiger or you can use the same shape made for the tiger and make a dog face. Just cut off part of the head and turn upside down, decorate and you have your tiger or dog, you choose. Now these next ones are more difficult, but you can make a cowboy boot out of a butterfly with two careful snips. For this last one, you will need a bow die cut and a heart die cut. Cut off the top of the bow and cut the heart in half. Put them together and you have a cowboy hat, yee-haw!Journaling is really big with the students now and this is a way for students to make some shapes for their journals and get creative.
