Crafty Comparisons

Beth got a great book from The Mailbox called Math Independent Practice. It is filled with Math center ideas. I have adapted several of them to whole group activities for end-of-year review. They are such great ideas and I love them because the materials are things that you have on hand or if you don't, they are very inexpensive. This particular activity is for greater than, less than, and equal to. I had the students program their construction paper with numbers and gave them pipe cleaners. Then they formed the pipe cleaners to make the correct comparison symbol to glue between the numbers. What teacher doesn't have pipe cleaners and construction paper to do this activity. The students thought this was so cool too.
