Tongue Twister

This is one of my students' new favorite centers. Each week I write two new tongue twisters containing students in our class names. I write the tongue twister on sentence strips and cut them apart. I then place them in a zip lock bag. The student is asked to put the tongue twister sentence together to form a sentence, write it down, then illustrate it. The final job for them is to say the tongue twister 3 times fast to someone in their group. They love to see who the tongue twister will be about and what funny thing it will say. I love to hear them trying to say it 3 times fast! The first week. I did it with my name and I was very impressed with this illustration. This idea came from Donna Whyte at the Centers in a Snap workshop I attended in December. You can get a list of possible tongue twisters at her site thesmartiezone.com.

  1. You know that if I had my class do a "tongue twister" they would literally try to twist their tongues and we would have a mess!! Maybe next year.
