thick paint

After seeing Jill's cute Hogs and Kisses door, I had to act fast to come up with something cute!

One of my objectives for the week was symmetry. It is perect for Valentines crafts. I gave each student a white constuction paper heart, and red, pink and purple paint. They painted one side of the heart VERY thick. Usually I am very obsessive with telling them not to paint too thick, becasue it will take FOREVER to dry. So it was such a treat to get to paint thick.

After painting they folded the heart and then we had our own BIG reveal. Walah??? Both sides were now painted. They turned out so cute.

I covered the door with black paint and placed the symmetric valentines on the door. Then I ledt the kids write their names with white chalk.

It turned out really cute.

  1. I do love your door. This pic doesn't do it justice. People should see it in person. The colors you did on the black looks so awesome! Thanks for sharing.
