Scrambled Tins Center
I found a new center that I think I have seen before. The idea I found said to use Altoid tins. I never have liked that idea because Altoid tins are not cute to me. I found these little tins at the Dollar Tree in the gift wrap section. You put the letters needed to spell out your vocabulary or spelling words in the tins. One word in each tin. You can use foam letters, maganetic letters, or you get the idea. You then use little yard sale circle stickers to number each tin. You will also need to provide a list of all the words used, but not in order. The students will also be given a page to record what is in each # tin. TSW unscramble the letters in each tin to spell one of the words and record it on their center sheet. I thought these tins I found are perfrect for the story "Mama's Birthday Present." However, you could use the tins for other stories too. I just like the decorated tins better than an ugly Altoids tin. I also think that getting these for a dollar each is a steal!
