Valentine Contraction Center
A fellow teacher shared this idea with me and I hope she doesn't mind me sharing it with you. She has saved the little valentine cards from year to year that students have given her or left-overs from her own children's packs. She puts the cards that have contractions on them into a ziploc bag. The students go to the center and pull out each valentine and write the contraction and the two words that make it up on a center page. Some of the valentine's she had said "What's the scoop?, You're tops, Let's BEE friends." If you really think about it most valentine's have contractions in them. I thought that I might even put my cards in a valentine mailbox of some sort to spruce it up a bit. I thought I would go ahead and share this idea. I don't have any pictures, and I won't be doing this center this year, but I am going to be saving the valentine's the students give me this year instead of putting them in file 13. So, I will have everything I need to do this center next year. Hope you can save yours too!! Thanks to my neighbor, Christie, for sharing this awesome idea!
