Wikki Stix Words

I have seen these so many times but thought, "Nah, I don't have the money for those." Then, when I went to Donna Whyte's workshop, some were included in her kit so I finally got the chance to use them in a center and I LOVE them. I used the Phonics Song Chart that came with our Scott-Foresman Reading Series and had the students find the words that go along with our skills for the week. They were to circle them using the wikki stix using the color code. They then had to show me their answers by using the same color code to circle the words with markers on their paper. They seemed to really like the center too. We ran into one minor problem. I didn't have enough yellow wikki sticks for the ar words, so we used some orange wikki stix too. I believe I will be purchasing some more of those things.
